Starting immediately on June 24, 2022 all citizens are requested to conserve water usage. This is due to maintenance/repair at the Water Treatment Plant. The estimated timeline to complete the maintenance and repairs at this time is unknown, however expect it to last until Monday or Tuesday of next week.

The RM of Elton encountered heavy rainfall which damaged local infrastructure. Prompt action is required to prevent harm or damage to the safety, health and welfare of the residents and to prevent any further damage to these properties within our boundaries.
We ask that you obey all orders issued by the municipality or other policing authorities during this emergency and to stay clear of any emergency areas.

EVERGREEN ENVIRONMENTAL TECHNOLOGIES GASIFIER PUBLIC CONSULTATION
Evergreen Environmental Technologies in partnership with the R.M.’s of Minto-Odanah, Elton, North Cypress-Langford, and Town’s of Minnedosa, Neepawa and Carberry, have developed a Zero Waste System, through the Gasification process, that will be used to divert municipal waste from the landfill. By-products from the Zero Waste System are aluminum, steel, glass and ash. The unit is located at Evergreen’s Class I Waste Facility, in the R.M. of Minto-Odanah. Testing of the unit has occurred, with a reduction of Greenhouse Gas Emission being observed. The Province has advised EET to proceed with the Environmental Assessment Report.
Council is now inviting members of the public who are likely to be affected by the above operation to submit any comments or questions that they may have in regards to the Zero Waste Unit, in writing or by email (email@example.com), not later than 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, JUNE 15th, 2022. All questions will be responded to prior to June 22nd.
The comments/questions received will be considered public information and may be used when applying to the Province for a license to operate the Zero Waste Unit.

Pedestrians on Rural Roads:
𝗛𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗽𝗲𝗱𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗿𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝘀:
* In areas without sidewalks, pedestrians should always walk on the left side of the road facing traffic.
* Riders, on bikes or horses, are considered vehicles and should always travel single file on the right side of the road with traffic.
* Drivers, please be courteous. Slow down and only pass other road users when there is no oncoming traffic.
